Art Buying Advice

We acknowledge that people buy art for a variety of reasons.  Our advice to you is free and available to everyone.  Buy what you like and aim to buy work by professional artists (someone making a living from their art).  Although art can often prove to be a great investment it carries a similar risk as property, stocks and shares i.e. it is often open to fluctuation in value, therefore we caution against purely purchasing for investment.  We strongly encourage the love and appreciation of fine art and recognize that this is the true value.  

First Time Art Buyer

Welcome to what could prove to be a life-long love and appreciation for original works of art.  We know from experience that you do not need any knowledge and understanding of art to be able to stand in front of a painting and know that you love it. 

Art Collections - Private

Are you looking for work by particular artists to add to your collection?  By joining our mailing list we will send you invitations to all our exhibitions and we will be able to notify you when we receive work by your favourite artists.

Art Collections - Corporate

Nothing quite sets off your boardroom and executive offices than a collection of original works of art by local, national and international artists.  We are happy to provide advice and assistance to you for adding to an existing collection or for integrating corporate art ownership into your overall business strategy.

New Artists

We have a solid track record for introducing some of Ireland's top young artists to the Irish art market.  We acknowledge that it can be difficult to become a recognized, successful artist.  We remind all aspiring professional artists that every great artist in history was once an 'unknown'!  Although it is relatively rare for us to take on a new artist, we will show all artists the courtesy of looking at your work.  In the first instance, we prefer if you forward a CV and three images of your work via email to us before calling. 

Valuations

Emer Gallery provides valuations for insurance, probate and family division.  We carry out full written valuations of individual works or full collections at competitive rates. 

Gallery Hire

The Gallery may be available for hire.  Please call for further advice and rates. 

Framing

Our experienced team of framers offer a quality bespoke framing service.  Whether you wish to frame an old family photograph, a prized artwork or that precious George Best Fiver, our team will take great care to advise you what moulding will best compliment your work and we offer competitive rates. 

Framing Supplies

The framing division of the gallery offers competitive rates to the framing trade for various mouldings and framing supplies.  The exceptional personal service is appreciated by numerous galleries, framers and workshops in the greater Belfast area and beyond.
